15.Iteration of Concrete Protection Technology for Harsh Environments: Material Upgrading Ideas for Offshore and Frozen Soil Overseas Infrastructure

Click:

“ Concrete infrastructure in marine and frozen soil environments faces severe durability risks such as chloride erosion and freeze-thaw damage. This paper summarizes the application defects of traditional protective materials, analyzes the technical iteration direction of integrated anti-corrosion and frost-resistant modified concrete. It puts forward targeted material protection schemes suitable for overseas offshore platforms, port projects and alpine frozen soil road infrastructure. ”

1. Current Application Status of Protective Technology
With the continuous expansion of global cross-sea transportation, offshore energy development and alpine infrastructure construction, concrete structures are facing extremely harsh service environments. At present, the industry mainly adopts two protection modes: external anti-corrosion coating coating and internal doping anti-corrosion and antifreeze admixtures. Traditional surface coating protection can isolate external corrosive media to a certain extent, and internal doping materials can improve the freeze-thaw resistance of concrete. These technologies have been widely used in domestic coastal wharves, sea dykes and northern frozen soil road projects, and have formed basic environmental protection technical experience.

2. Defects of Traditional Protection Systems
Traditional concrete protection technologies have prominent aging failure problems in long-term harsh environments. The external protective coating is easy to age, peel and fall off under the action of marine strong ultraviolet radiation, wave impact and temperature alternating, resulting in loss of protective effect. Traditional internal anti-corrosion admixtures have limited chloride ion barrier ability, and steel bar corrosion is easy to occur in the later stage of structure operation. In alpine frozen soil areas, ordinary anti-freeze concrete is prone to freeze-thaw swelling damage and structural peeling, resulting in shortened service life of infrastructure and frequent maintenance.

3. New Generation Protection Technology Iteration Ideas
The future environmental protection technology will develop towards the integration of internal modification and external reinforcement. Develop multi-functional composite modified admixtures integrating anti-chloride erosion, anti-freezing and anti-aging to optimize the internal pore structure of concrete and fundamentally improve the environmental erosion resistance of the matrix. Develop high-weathering flexible integrated protective coatings to solve the problem of coating peeling under alternating temperature and load. Build an integrated protection system of 'matrix anti-corrosion + surface isolation + crack self-repair' to realize full-life cycle safety protection of concrete structures in extreme environments.

4. Overseas Targeted Adaptation Scheme
Aiming at different overseas extreme environments, personalized protection material systems are formed. For high-salinity and high-temperature offshore projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, high-efficiency chloride barrier and anti-aging concrete formulas are developed. For alpine frozen soil infrastructure in high-latitude regions, low-temperature high-toughness anti-freezing and anti-cracking concrete materials are customized. Provide complete sets of material products and construction protection processes for overseas offshore platforms, frozen soil highways and port infrastructure, solving the durability pain points of extreme environmental engineering.

Conclusion

The integrated internal and external protection system breaks through the durability bottleneck of traditional concrete in harsh environments. Targeted modified material formulas can adapt to the extreme climate characteristics of global offshore and frozen soil regions, providing reliable long-term safety protection solutions for overseas high-difficulty infrastructure projects.
